Tongass Narrows Floats AI Traffic - FOR PAKT SP1 ONLY

This Package Will install AI Float Traffic for users who have FSADDON's Tongass Fjords and are running the Orbx Scenery PAKT and its SP1 on their system. If you do not have Tongass Fjords installed, this package will not function as advertised.

The ADE files in this package were made by Kim Gowney. Flight plan additions and adaption to the Orbx scenery was done by Dexter Thomas. The trail blazer in the AI float plane effort is Holger Sandman. We also want to thank FSADDON and Francois for allowing us to use the AI float planes from the Tongass Fjords Scenery.

AI Floatplane for Misty (Version 1.3) (Updated 03.07.11)
Floatplane Traffic for Misty

One of the most innovative features of Tongass Fjords was the inclusion of AI floatplane traffic, it really made the place come to life. We wanted to get that same "busy" feel to the PF area as it reflects the reality of the region. With that in mind we have updated several of the FSX Seaplane Bases (SPB's) to have such AI traffic flying up and down the coast from as far south as Port Hardy up to and including the Tongass regions. All the SPB's have been assigned local radio frequencies Some CTAF some Unicom, so you will also hear them at each place as the announce arrival and take-off.

The sole purpose of this addition is to generate a busier feel to the area, we do not intend to add AI all over the place as most of our sceneries would not suit them, but in this instance we have included a new SPB at Misty's and some float traffic will be flying in and out of there during the day.

Note: You will need the Tongass X scenery to see this traffic as it utilizes those plane models, so if you don't already have it, save your pennies and buy it, it's a must have anyway!

NOTAM: This is an updated version, please carefully read the included readme file for this download. Updated a second time (03.07.11) to get rid of the flight numbers.

• This new file addresses the problem of repeated calls by different aircraft all using the same flight number, it also introduces a few different paints.

Forrester Island Carrier Group (Updated 03.08.11)

This traffic package contains an aircraft carrier task force consisting of a carrier, a cruiser and two destroyers. They will follow a single route with the carrier leave first every hour on the hour. The rest are staged a few minutes later. If you should catch them in the rest mode, you will only see the carrier or perhaps a carrier and a cruiser. The other ships will be encapsulated in the larger vessel. The vessels in this package are default and probably require the acceleration package to be installed. This task force will appear off Forrester Island. The carrier is land able if you want to try it.

Misty Cruise Ship (and Fishing Boats) Added 02.01.2012

NOTAM: This is only compatable with PAKT SP1 which you must already have installed.

This AI Traffic enhancement gives you a great cruise ship at a new docking area and small fishing boats in the area of Ketchikan Harbor.

Here is a contribution to Misty Moorings all of us will appreciate and enjoy. Do you miss seeing the ship coming down the Tongass Narrows? Well, miss it no more. Dex Thomas has given us permission to put the zip file online for you. You will get a Coast Guard Cutter at Ketchikan, a cruise ship coming down the Tongass Narrows. There's a ship near New Eddystone Rock and another sailing on the Portland Canal near Stewart, BC. Our thanks to Dex for allowing us to feature this fine addition to Misty Moorings. Everything you will need is in the READ_ME file. (Very simple to do!)

More AI shipping traffic for your pleasure from Dex Thomas. Where is the traffic? At Herring Bay Cannery, there are three fishing boats that depart on the hour. At Hunter Bay Cannery, there is one AI fishing vessel operating there. At Nina's Landing you will find "Hama's" Mega Yacht operating from there. A container ship runs from near MTM to Ketchikan.

Misty Tourist Boat (Added 04.02.11)

When you go to see Eddystone Rock, you take the tourist boat. And here's the boat to take. Dex has give us the Misty Tourist boat that goes right by New Eddystone Rock.

This vessel is default FSX. I played no part in its construction, just simply created the track and put the package together for Misty Moorings enjoyment. If you do not like this vessel or find fault that you can't live with, just do
not use it. Go in peace!

No, in the real world, there is no Air Traffic Control at PAKT (Ketchikan Int'l). So for the "purists" among you, this is not your candy. But for those of us who fly in and out of PAKT every day and get a little lonely doing it, now the "tower" will talk back to you. Here is ATC for PAKT. (We think it is strange to have a tower with nobody in it anyway! :-)

We have pre-checked this with Russ White who is building the new PAKT for ORBX. Russ said this would not interfere with anything he is planning for us and to "go for it." But we must warn you. When the new PAKT comes out, (late August) it well could eleminate this feature. CAREFULLY read the readme. This is a smiple change, but please do just as the instructions say.

The Sounds of Misty - We will be giving you "sound effects" for many of the scenery locations. Look for the "sound available" icon (below) that you will find on the Scenery Page. Those locations with sound enhancement will be indicated with this icon. Click on the icon at each scenery location where it appears and you will download the sound enhancement along with a "readme" file that explains how to install it.
